Why Children’s Bible Study and Children’s Worship?
Each setting on Sunday morning works together, hand in hand, to give your child the best biblical foundation we can offer. Children’s Bible Study is a hands-on, learning experience, in which the children have the privilege of enjoying friendships and the individual care of teachers who know them personally. Children’s Worship offers a large group worship experience through music and creative teaching, which will give them an opportunity to connect with God in a more personal way. It is our desire for children to attend both if at all possible.
What steps do I take when my child wants to be baptized?
- Option 1: Attend the New Christian’s Class
- Option 2: Schedule a personal visit with a Children’s Minister
If you prefer or schedules do not work out to attend the New Christian’s Class, you may make an appointment with Rachel Jones or one of the other Children’s Staff. We are happy to meet with you and your child. Contact Rachel Jones or Donna Schmidt for an appointment.
Baptism
After attending the New Christian’s Class or meeting with a minister, arrangements for a child’s baptism will be made at your request.
Curriculum
SonLight City uses Group Publishing’s Hands-On Bible Curriculum for our Sunday Morning Bible Study classes.
Medical Release Forms
Every child should have a current, completed and notarized medical release form on file with the Children’s Ministry. (We have a notary on our staff). These are used for your child to receive emergency medical treatment if a parent is not available. You may turn in your form to the Children’s Ministry Office Monday-Friday, or you may mail it in to The People’s Church, Children’s Ministry, 828 Murfreesboro Road, Franklin, TN 37064
Allergies
If a child has a critical allergy, we ask that you email Donna Schmidt so that we can assure your child’s safety in the classroom and activity settings.
Locating a parent in case of illness or injury
If we feel the need to contact you while your child is in SonLight City, we will notify the information desk in the Grand Lobby and obtain any information we have available as to your location. In the worship service, your child’s name will appear on the screen. You should go immediately to the information desk where they can give you further instructions. In case of dire emergency, we will contact the EMT on campus.
